CGLL Minor All-Stars Power Past Northridge in High-Scoring Showdown
The CGLL Minor All-Stars brought their bats and hustle Tuesday evening, storming out to an early lead and never looking back in an 18-8 victory over the Northridge 10U All-Stars. The win was fueled by aggressive base running, timely hitting, and heads-up defense.
CGLL Erupts for 8 Runs in the 1st Inning
CGLL wasted no time setting the tone, scoring eight runs in the top of the first inning. The rally was aided by a series of walks, two key errors, and a pair of clutch singles by Jayden Hoffman and Daniel Anderton. The team capitalized on passed balls and wild pitches to extend their lead.
Northridge Responds but Falls Behind
Despite the early deficit, Northridge answered with six runs of their own in the bottom half of the inning. Doubles by C.L. and K.E. brought in four runs, and errors by CGLL allowed Northridge to stay within striking distance at 8–6.
Pitching Settles In, CGLL Adds Insurance
Both teams tightened up defensively in the middle innings, but CGLL managed to tack on two more in the second inning, thanks to a walk and a hit-by-pitch, followed by another RBI walk by Aiden Frantzich.
Colton Boyer settled in on the mound for CGLL, recording multiple strikeouts across the second and third innings and stranding Northridge runners in scoring position.
CGLL Pulls Away Late with 5th-Inning Surge
In the top of the fifth, CGLL broke the game open, scoring six runs behind a string of doubles from Ronan Janes and Colton Hoffman, and a flurry of fielding miscues by Northridge. The Northridge infield committed four consecutive errors, allowing CGLL to push their lead to 18–8.
