SLL Minor All-Stars Surge Past CGLL in 12-3 Victory

SLL Minor All-Stars Surge Past CGLL in 12–3 Victory

The SLL Minor All-Stars came out swinging and never looked back, capitalizing on early opportunities and late-inning insurance to secure a 12–3 win over the CGLL Minor All-Stars.

Three-Run First Sets the Tone

SLL loaded the bases in the top of the first and pushed across three runs. C.H. and A.R. opened with back-to-back singles before K.L. walked to load the bases. W.L. drove in a run with a single, and A.W. added a sacrifice fly. Despite leaving the bases loaded, SLL took an early 3–0 lead.

CGLL Responds, But Leaves Runs on the Table

CGLL threatened in the bottom of the first but were stifled by a sharp double play. Colton Hoffman reached second on a wild pitch and Brandon Beck walked, but Wyatt Klemin grounded into a rare 1–3–2 double play to end the inning and end the rally.

SLL Adds Pressure with Extra-Base Hits

In the second inning, SLL added more pressure. D.P. and J.J. hit back-to-back doubles, though aggressive baserunning led to an out at home. CGLL escaped further damage with a lineout, but momentum remained with SLL.

CGLL Gets on the Board

CGLL finally broke through in the bottom of the second. After reaching on an error, Benjamin Domasky scored on Aiden Frantzich's RBI single to make it 3–1. However, two runners were caught stealing third in the inning, cutting short CGLL’s chance to close the gap.

SLL Opens Floodgates in Third

The third inning proved decisive. After loading the bases again, SLL plated four more runs on a combination of singles, wild pitches, and walks. W.L., A.W., and J.A. all reached safely, while CGLL struggled to find the strike zone. The lead ballooned to 7–1.

CGLL Shows Fight in the Fourth

Colton Boyer singled and scored on a triple from Colton Hoffman, who later came home on a sacrifice fly by Brandon Beck, trimming the deficit to 8–3. The crowd roared as CGLL showed life, but that would be their final run of the game.

Insurance Runs Seal the Deal for SLL

SLL put the game out of reach in the fifth and sixth innings. Patience at the plate led to four more runs, capped by RBI singles from W.L. and A.W., plus a bases-loaded walk. CGLL pitchers struggled with command, issuing several walks and hitting a batter, allowing SLL to stretch the lead to 12–3.
